Olympics Inspiration For Building a Successful Online Business

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

I find the Olympics very inspiring: Seeing those athletes go out there and give their best; knowing that they had to sacrifice so much time and money to get where they are at; all for the slight chance of rising to the top of the podium.
Would I be willing to do the same if I had the talent?

I guess I answer that question every day with how I approach life and business.

In the Olympics, it is said that those who want the medals most achieve them. That makes sense. When you want something bad enough, you are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it.

The Internet offers tons of strategy that you can implement to further improve your online business. Aside from the usual SEO concepts that you can find on the Internet, you can also use other methods that will increase the chances of success for your venture ~ like social bookmarking.

What is Bookmarking?

Bookmarking is a term used for tagging sites for personal use. In most cases, bookmarking is commonly done in a Web browser, saving URLs on the application itself to be viewed later on when needed.

Social bookmarking, however, involves tagging URLs directly on your Web site on the Internet that you can share to the rest of the online community. Social bookmarking was first used as a means to increase one's reputation by bookmarking useful site's that fits perfectly with their interest.

Building Your Mailing List with Downloads

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

A mailing list is the lifeblood of your online business. The old adage “the money is in the list” cannot be true enough — if you had a targeted list of prospects to contact each time you have a new product, you will be able to save a lot of effort by marketing it to your existing list of targeted prospects.

You can actually build up a targeted list of prospects that are interested in your products by offering a relevant download on your website. For example, let's take a look at a very good example — apple.com. When you download the free iTunes and Quicktime software from their site, they will ask you to fill in an optional name and email form so that they can send you offers on songs that you can purchase via — guess where — iTunes!

Add Online Faxing to Your Business Marketing Strategy

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

For some folks, everything having to do with “marketing strategy” should be new, newer or newest and as high-tech as possible. For them, the appearance of the words “online” and “marketing” in the same headline make perfect sense - but “faxing”? That's so “1980s,” isn't it? Perhaps, but “online faxing” is an “Internet era” development, and has a place in any wide-ranging and enlightened marketing strategy, regardless of the product or service. The fact is, you can do your business a whole lot of good if you simply add online faxing to your business marketing strategy.

The question should always be, “Does it work?” - not, “When was it invented?” The fact is, rudimentary online fax applications and Web forms appeared hot on the heels of the first America Online diskette mass mailing. Online faxing attracted developers right away in the early 1990s, and has attracted them ever since to perfect a range of Web-based and freestanding applications that deliver faxes over the Internet. The reason? Online faxing works well, it's based on a mature technology and people use it every day, millions of times, around the world.
