Time Management…
What emotions do these words evoke? How’s that phrase make you feel?
Business Management
If you’re an overwhelmed entrepreneur chances are it doesn’t give you the warm fuzzies!
Whatever it is, one thing is for sure; not all of us are born effective time managers!
Most of us wish we had 25 hours, or more, a day to fit our “to do’s” in.
However, it is actually very possible to get MORE done in LESS TIME when you focus on being effective or simply prioritizing those “to do’s” instead of cramming them in this elusive thing we call “Time.”
If you think about it, and dig a little deeper, time management is a mere figment of our imagination!

The property management business is a really good idea for someone who wants to make a decent income without taking too many risks.
My foray into property management was purely by chance. I had about 15 flats in Dundee and employed a full time handy man to collect rents and sort out any minor repairs.
Business Management
My friend Chris knew that my properties were well managed and he asked if I would look after his mother’s flats. I knew that she was not well and because of her health, in the last year half her flats had lain empty. I reluctantly agreed and started renting out her properties.

Many organizations subscribe to the policy of promotion from within. Today, many eager employees consistently demonstrate all the capacities of being a “super-worker.” Each and every day, their strengths of job specific skills are viewed by their “bosses.” When that one management position is available, these “super-workers” hungrily vie for that position. And sometimes with hard work, one of these individuals safely reaches that next step up the corporate or management ladder – being a Supervisor.
Now, this highly skilled super-worker is catapulted into an entirely different world of management – supervision. The skills that brought him or her to this new level of supervision are not the same skills required to be successful in this role.

If you are starting a business you certainly need a business plan. However, you do not need a massively complicated plan that is pages and pages of information that no one ever needs. What you do need is a simple plan that identifies the main strategy of your business and how you plan to go about it.
A plan should be a document that is continually evolving. Therefore it shouldn’t be something that you create and then put in the cupboard never to read again. It makes perfect sense to get it out on a regular basis and review it and compare it with how your business is actually running.

Human resource management involves a good leader, a healthy work environment, and a good job to produce a motivated employee. A results-oriented approach to employee relations requires management skills in identifying problems, setting priorities, and developing and evaluating alternatives as well as the ability to communicate, initiate action, implement it, measure it, control it, and change its course as necessary.
The roots of most management problems lie in the organization’s misuse of its human resources. In most cases this is not deliberate, but is a problem of inattention resulting from a lack of knowledge of how to identify the real causes of those problems.

If we believe that happy employees are motivated employees then here are 8 ways to keep them motivated.
- Start with good employees, if you concentrate on character rather than skills you are then more than half-way to motivating your employees
Business Management
- Learn to evaluate and talk to them, this is not the praise or rewards, but feedback about the task they are presently doing.
- Praise, acknowledgment, if one of the top reasons why employees quit is lack of recognition, then recognition for good work seems to carry a lot of importance.
- At the same time you need discipline, if a good employee sees unwanted behavior going unpunished, then that good employee loses his own feeling of being better.
